Alfisti Unite

"No Alfa is an island" might be the motto and objective of the newly formed Island Alfa Romeo Club. Alfa Romeo's are part exotic and part orphan since Alfa Romeo officially withdrew from the North American in 1997. The club is aimed at helping fellow members the practical, sporting and social side of owning an Alfa Romeo.

Regular meetings are currently held on the first Monday of each month at the Bird of Paradise pub located at 4291 Glanford in Victoria. Meetings get under way at 7:00 p.m. upstairs in a private meeting room. Anyone with an interest in Alfas is welcome to attend.

President's Message

Actually Michael Moore wrote this. Vern's been busy getting ready for another record snowfall this winter! He just bought a non-Alfa Japanese station wagon type 4 wheel drive.

"Well we are on our way to having a strong Alfa Romeo club! This is  good news for local Alfa enthusiasts as it will benefit members in many ways.
- as a network for sourcing parts
- as a way to share technical expertise
- and as a way to share the fun and enjoyment of owning and Alfa

As most of you are aware, forming a club these days can be a long process with many hurdles to overcome. The main obstacle was providing liability insurance when holding club events. Insurance costs for a club functioning on its own would have been prohibitive. Therefore, we agreed to solve this dilemma by becoming an associate member club of the Victoria Motor Sports Club. Our club will not only benefit from having our events and meetings covered by insurance, but also provide us with access to other events the V.M.S.C. sponsors such as salons, speed runs, speed trials, driver training, track rental, etc. at a reduced rate. We also have voting privileges in their club.
